1. O wakeful with fear and awe
Sleep near the glorious hero knight

2. Let not images passing alarm you
That did alarm you in your early days

3. A king has spared you tribulation’s pain
Crowned amid the bounty of the brilliant and lofty ‘Ali

4. And o brother of wealth, fret not and boast of it
Among people, and sever any tie you wish or unite

5. You may see the dynasty of nobles has crumpled
Its standards and the dynasty of thehelm has declined

6. Send good tidings to the cities reporting
Of a most wondrous kingdom, no failing and no proxy

7. That a people may return to the homelands in good cheer
Who before saw in them the disappointment of hope

8. Injustice estranged them so they fled in droves
Without any hatred from them or boredom

9. In Persian land their number cannot be counted
And Iraq filled, plains and mountains, with them

10. Swaying far from all homelands, all of them
With intense yearning and reminiscence busied

11. And he who stayed, his reckoning was made
And saw fire front and back

12. And each day came one to take him to account
Without duty paid or bonus

13. His safe night like a drunkard atop the litter
And none feels safe but one whose bondman arose

14. A base offspring of Zanj like a calf
Or the offspring of a wicked Bedouin whose ambition

15. Is what has provoked Allah in word and deed
O emigrant of home in fear, come! For security

16. Has called you: present yourself swiftly!
And fear not, for he whom you used to dread

17. The lord of kingdoms eliminated since becoming heir
Abu Sinan, ally of glorious deeds, he who

18. His lofty determination has transcended Saturn
Reviver of lands, and they were healed atop yelling cliffs

19. And their barrier with white and brown horses
And justice’s messenger alive again after screaming

20. And its mother proclaimed alas and woe of bereavement
If his father returned alive and disputed with him

21. A weakened man neither unjust nor tired
How many cases of injustice with the unjust dead

22. Without discussing the litigants or questioning
And how many hands stretched in harm and wrong

23. Then changed after to paralysis
This, and how many wicked slaves whose ambition

24. Bore gossip, calumny, and backbiting,
Has eased Muslims’ hearts, and did not

25. Take vengeance, exchanging it for lashing,
And how many straying callers were conceited

26. Loudmouths, but he silenced them from nonsensical prattle
More protective than a man is Jassas ibn Murra when

27. He pursued Kulayb with firm resolve without failing
He would not accept humiliation in exile’s injustice or

28. Be content with any deficiency or excuse with illness
More equitable and just than Chosroes the morn he shot

29. Through his heir’s heart in truth without bending
And the Tayyi does not equal him one day in nobility

30. How can the sea be gauged with a goblet?
And where is Kulayb amid battle if

31. The hilts of the Suriyyat swords bite the hills
Ask about him the day their steeds from Qatif attacked

32. In droves from Qarhaa to the mountain
Each malicious Uqayl urging them on

33. A loyalist to the unswerving knights without faltering
He gave their tongues the steed’s jugular and allowed them not

34. On the field of battle to stab the shoulder
Until he protected his steeds by force and aided him

35. A bold heart and plan without failing,
Then withdrew, victory accompanying him,

36. The stallion walking proudly at an easy gait,
How many a quandary of battle his blade revived

37. And how many a rebel hero it killed
And how much tyranny and turmoil its obscurities dispelled

38. After their time became like an infant at noon
O good days of his, beauty of his dynasty!

39. They surpassed eras and dynasties
If only they continued and their continuance was without

40. End of eras for them until posterity
If not for the hope we anticipated in them

41. We would have died choked with soul’s spite from perfection
But delusions trouble souls when they are about

42. To believe a saying with connection,
That he is the rebel, made victorious, supported

43. By narrators, the substitutes, and messengers,
By him Bahrain’s villages were illuminated and its lands

44. Gladdened, and the breast of the strangled breathed relief,
And they wore, after the garb of humiliation,

45. A splendid robe with embroidery and ornament
And gone from its wrap was an immense cleft

46. That even if lions with claws approached could not attain
If Adam inhabited it after his garden

47. He would not have left it for Paradise and shifted at all
O son of sublime kings who erected their realms

48. With glories, not deceit and cunning,
Every youth of Ibrahim’s line dozes protected

49. Of uncorrupted honor, untainted and direct
They are the people supreme in valor and nobility,

50. In loyalty and oath and wandering life,
They fulfill among people what they have said while others,

51. If they deny some of the saying, do not speak at all,
In every clan but a few you see

52. A house, glory of which is in one man,
You are a people, if your boy wished

53. To obtain the sky, he would grasp the whale with worry
Who would consider Abdullah your grandfather

54. As grandfather and call a youth like Al-Fadl or ‘Ali a youth?
And who would aspire to Abu Mansur your father

55. In pride? And where is the land from the towering summits?
And who like his sons on the day of ‘Adiya

56. Regal geldings walked to it with harried gait
And in Abu Mis’ar lies pride with which all tribes admit

57. Whether traveling or Bedouin that settled,
And where are like the Al al-Fadl, whenever asked

58. They accorded without hesitation or mortification?
If I mentioned kings of your forefathers

59. I would make earth’s kings ashamed
But praising you with your ancestors I saw

60. In the Days of Ignorance to be worthlessness and failing,
For of your glories we have seen with some

61. The highest endeavors could be fulfilled
And you, o son of Abu Sinan, are one heir of them,

62. And that is nobility of your noble ancestors,
You outpaced the race, time protected you, and enmity’s mother

63. Became with you the mother of woe and confusion
And may your noble sons live whom among us

64. In nobility and valor are the limit of hope,
For in your lives lies the best of life, for us

65. Without doubt, and fine amusement and gathering,
And he who envied you died of rage

66. And if he lives it is in continuous humiliation
