For none absent is like one present in knowledge

To the torment of giggling fortune's caprice

26. And Ibn Mudhakkir arose bearing his mantle
Warning all lords of his raids

27. He who was derelict after Dhahmash
Said loyalty in such times was not requisite

By fate like docile steeds to a rider

29. Sa'eed, Mas'oud and their youthful band
Marched the denuded horses between the dunes

30. They envied the people of Hejaz and advanced
From Sham with their tribes and regiments

31. A knight of flawless pedigree met them roaming the waste
With horses and spears, dreading no calamities

32. Blows that make the valiant despair, accustomed
To denying respite and spurning pitiful entreaties

33. Naught saved them but flight and a neighbor
Who came to them with no honor for the fleeing

34. Yet they claimed in their claim that their horses
Would trample the towns of Bahrain on every side

36. And the noble youths of Siddiq and Aqil
Burdensome to the foe, honorable and apt

37. With them they attained their hopes and goals
And the most lofty ranks were theirs to keep

38. He is the puissant lord and lion who built
His glory above the piercing stars

ูุฌุฏููู ููููู ุงููููุฌูู

39. To him the bowed necks submitted, and the land
Revived after those ruinous times
ูฃูฉ. ูููู ุฎูุถูุนูุช ุบููุจู ุงูุฑูููุงุจู ููุฃูุตุจูุญุช
ุจูู ุงูุฃูุฑุถู ุชูุฒูู ุจูุนุฏู ุชูููู ุงูุบููุงููุจู
40. You see at his court the envoys of kings held
As one departs, another arrives in fear

41. Of ravages known to them that he inflicts

42. Inheriting from ancient Ad and Jurhum
And Afsa's Hueyb and ages past

43. And the Prince of Believers inclined to him in love
And named him Chief of the Noble Arabians

44. He protected the righteous from the Iraqis' grasp, and seized it

45. By his lofty glory, every fearful
And intimidated soul was empowered, enriched by his munificence

46. Never has Rabiah lacked one such as him
To establish glory or grant bounty

47. Nor have his days ceased in prosperity
Protected and secure his sanctuary and flanks
