1. I thought of God's goodness and forgiveness
Of the disobedient sinner, though the sin be grave
١. تفكرت في جودِ الاِله وَعَفوِهِ
عَن المُذنِب العاصي وَاِن عَظم الذَنب
2. And I had good expectations of Him
Whom my sins cannot harm, so hardship became easy and distress cleared away
٢. وَأَحسَنتُ ظَني بِالَّذي لا تَضُرُّه
ذُنوبي فهان الصَعب وَاِنكَشَف الكرب
3. And from His generosity I hoped for safety
For the dweller in this tomb, touched by fear
٣. وَمن جوِهِ أَملت امنا ورحة
لساكن هذا القبران مسه رُعب
4. And I called upon, O Lord, Your abundance
And Your servant Ismail hopes in You, O my Lord
٤. وَأَرخته يا رب جودك واسِع
وَعبدك اسماعيل يرجوك يا رَبّي
