With ambition that tramples hearts under its shoes

27. So calamities see ruin under his shoes

28. He overlooks vulgarityโ€”his glory is far above
He accepts when the foolish babble idly

29. Alas Ramadan, you have left him
Why didn't you stay with him like some of his family?

31. Reciting the Quran the whole day
Standing for God the whole night

32. His food pure and lawful, not able
To discern the unlawful from the lawful

A man who would sacrifice himself and his men for him

38. It came despite the scheming of enviers
And spit on their beards and their mustaches

39. So congratulate this holiday, may you stay in grace
And may your ropes, my master, join to its ropes
