1. From a garden of melody, the morning dew awakened it
And joys stirred, though most were meager

2. It sang to you scattered, so your tears
Became, from intense passion for it, a scattering

3. And sorrow leaned upon you as if
A handsome man in green robes upon its branches

4. And pens of basil met you at dawn
In lines upon the surface of the water from its shade

5. And the air took on a roseate hue when the breeze
Brought the first season of festival its fragrance

6. And the gossip whispered to you secretly, concealed
About the moist oleander that had no diffusion

7. And it competed with you in blueness as if
A sapphire upon its origin a ruby the full moon gathered

8. And armies of roses marched until their
Talons clung to the thorn when victory descended

9. And the narcissus returned humbled when it opposed
The violet, so it hastened to face it with a withering glance

10. And the leaves sang while finches circled them
Your heart was torn between their modulation and rhythm

11. And the warbling of the bulbul was pleasing and its
Teasing of the tender sprigs when the dew descended

12. Has the gazelle, her cheek sunken, turned
Her throat burdened by languor and age?

13. With a neck like a wine ewer adorned
By a beauty spot from the eye threading it like a pearl

14. And the sun pictured its face in the image of her face
And the full moon strove to perfect it with paleness

15. And a houri glancing flirtatiously with a glance
Of soft edges and some coquettish gestures

16. A delicate, sensitively responsive gaze that would wash
An army of Kisra during his battles with tears

17. When the night of torment spreads at dawn
Dawn glows from the furthest corners of its darkness

18. So do not deny if her face is absent in poetry
And the full moon is missed on a dark night

19. Indeed thoughts were confused in describing her as
In describing Abdullah, thought was confused

20. Grandson of the sublime, Gabriel, servant of his grandfather
Upon whose heart the Quran and remembrance were revealed

21. And the throne of majesty, were it not for him, would have been
The sphere of sublime and favor would have no mention

22. He ascended in nobility so the towering heights entirely
Cannot appreciate the esteem of one beyond esteem

23. And the light of the sun shone from the light of his face
So neither the seven planets nor the sparkling stars

24. He is the sea and gnosis from his heart’s eye
Gushed forth til it wandered lost in describing it

25. He is the sea and elixir, were a speck of him to vanish
It would become a sun – that yellow mountain

26. He is the greatest sign, if recited upon
Spells of magic, for his sake sorcery would melt

27. He is the white pearl of Haydar’s treasure
He hid it for us as a treasure, and he became the treasure

28. If the critical matter began with his grandfather
With the Chosen Abdullah it sealed the matter

29. For they are the cause of the two worlds, its aid came
And gesturing coincided in that and conduct

30. So neither judgment in the world left behind it
Nor heart, stripping it bare, nor rupture and breaking

31. Have you not seen that the universe became radiant
With his rising, though man set the six in motion?

32. It congratulates him on holidays foolishly, though
The holidays offer congratulations to him, if fate were just

33. For there is no holiday but from the sanctuaries of his face
No happiness but in ease coming through him

34. Nine preceded of this month, then the eminent Sayyid
Completed the tenth

35. O delight of the world, O light of its eye
O its hidden secret, if the secret appeared

36. Its sun, if into Pisces went its sun
Its full moon, if its full moon were eclipsed

37. O clouds of blessings, if the dew were mentioned
O pride of this age, if pride were mentioned

38. There came to you from artful composition a unique poem
It aspires, and from its boughs wafts fragrance

39. It sought you only for acceptance, for it
Circled every sea short of you, O sea!

40. And it came to congratulate the holiday in you, for it
Saw that you are the holiday encompassed by the age

41. And I see what it saw as creed
Your face thus became, and praising me, droplets

42. And after my circumambulations around you, seven, compliant,
My sa’y, donning ihram, the reward affirmed

43. I ritually slaughtered enemies around you, then slaughtered them
There is no doubt that slaughter comes after the stoning

44. With delight, O ultimate goal and purpose
May your prosperity in the universe and triumph endure

45. As long as the cycle of days, no voice chanted on the pulpits
No eagle soared to the highest horizons of sublimity
