1. To you we head seeking knowledge
And from you we hope for aid and grace

2. You are the keeper, the supreme scholar
And the beauty of religion and life

3. You have both virtues and are peerless
None in existence can equal your nobility

4. None can equal your stature so exalted
Your dignity equals your pride, unreachable

5. You welcome questions when we ask
Though some are annoyed by queries

6. I have a claim on you, no rebuttal
You reject no plea nor procrastinate

7. When my life grew constrained, I wrote
Clouds may delay when heavy with rain

8. I wrote to you in need, destitute
By Allah, I own no money

9. This is my story and to you I complain
My words then yours the action

10. May the Guardian sustain you in bliss
And glory, never to fade or cease
