1. No lover is blamed for falling madly in love
So ignore the words of the blamer and envious

2. Be humble, perhaps after his estrangement, the beloved
Will unite with you

3. Don't say he slept all night long
While I stayed awake all night long, upset

4. For that is the way of lovers, their words
Have become one

5. A young gazelle, with a delicate and short
Neck, a fawn whose eyes have wandered

Do not plant evil, for it is corrupt

8. Like a playing boy, a sleepy one, and the youthful breeze
That has become morning drizzle playing with a sleepy one

9. A young spirited girl with curly hair
Walked on the back of a firm, one-humped camel

10. Her parting made me lose patience, and my longing
For her increased after she traveled

11. Who can praise this time? It has become
One where there are few who praise it

12. Its arrows have struck me, leaving
My confused heart standing still

13. Poverty that always competes with youth
And estrangement whose afflictions are one

14. If it were not for the most glorious Imam
Who quenches my thirst with the cool water of his generosity

15. I would have died but he saved me
Honor him, the refined and glorious one

16. Abu Al-Ala and his son, may the days
When he and his father lived not cease

17. If he makes a promise he fulfills it, and if
Another person makes a promise, he breaks it and disappoints

18. He protects his honor, and was never
Distracted from doing so, for ages

19. The purity of his character and noble manners
Bare witness to this

20. His generosity is an ocean whose waves crash and so
It never lacks one who takes or one who gives

21. They are all seen bowing down before him
Sometimes kneeling, sometimes prostrating

22. Whoever compares the face of Imam Ahmed to a
Full moon, I see his analogy as faulty

23. The full moon wanes at times, while
The Protector’s light always increases

24. O you whose gifts, all of us agree
Some ancient and some recent

25. Your generosity rivals Hatim’s and surpassed
What Khaled ibn Al Waleed built

26. So celebrate as Rajab has come to you
O glorious one

27. And the first born comes announcing in the garb
Of happy tidings

28. Greet and live in bliss forever O flag of the days
And destination of seekers

29. You still are the stronghold of supremacy, the place where
Virtue gathers, and vexation of the enemy and envious
