1. Turn your face to me, for I am leaving you
What can I say to my questions, what can I describe?

2. Regain your sanity from error which you granted
The virtue of proximity but it turned where there is no standing

3. You were deceived about me, and my pleading deluded you
And you wandered lost in self-admiration and arrogance

4. And of my evils was that I was always
Changing towards you in all circumstances

5. Did I come to you except before my demise
That I am leaving you in great sorrow

6. Had I known this, that which you knew
And I had besides it on earth a refuge

7. But I was fooled by a lightning whose darkness disappeared
My tears raining for it, a cloudburst stopping

8. Until I attained and what I attained from you was only
A sullen face and words, less than it, rotten

9. So if I complain, then all time is contention
And if I forget, then all living is fragmented

10. And if another saw my state, he will recall it
Among losses, the evil of measuring and sifting

11. When the clouds turn away their rising from me
Let not their thorns strike me with their prickling leaves

12. And how much I endured and said a free man returns
With gentle speech, even if the nose turns away

13. I decided to string them into a necklace, its jewels
Were it not for minds, the oyster would have covered them

14. From every blossoming meadow, if the valleys saw it
They would say a garden, most excellent

15. So I was like one seeking the bloom of youth, for one
Whom old age overwhelmed and senility conquered

16. O you equitable, return to the path of justice, and return
For injustice brings harmony, and the wronged gets satisfaction

17. You are generous, and the protector said a proverb:
“The generous when appealed to, relent”

18. Is other than your companion, the loyal, when they betray?
Or other than your servant, the eternal, when they turn away?

19. If you deny, then situations do not deny
Each one's confirmation of me in you confesses

20. Your neglect intends for my loyalty opposition
Yet words are beautiful, and intentions differ

21. You wronged me and my love. If for me
Other than this, death's rattle at you would shake

22. When can I say morning shone its rising?
So pack your bags and leave, O horsefly

23. And I will pluck a bouquet of love, blooming
For long have I been gathering from it before

24. And return the envious aggressor who walked the
Ribs, and worry and anguish

25. Be good, Abu Hasan, in listening, for long
Has blame lasted, so make rebuke shorter

26. And I have gone about my business, so go gently
God is your neighbor - excellent Neighbor and guardian
