2. If you have no affection for the hopeful,
Then how often did the glances of your mirror shine for the beholder!

3. The line of love is manifest from it, which fortifies hopes,
And if you attempt it, you will find every problem solved,

4. The wonders of the origin of love are its cause,
For one who is content with it through pretenses,

5. They mentioned that youth is a trusteeship,
Which confirms with hints or with flirtation,

6. And they said the books of coquetry came with its isolation,

7. And it was not the temptation of a cheek, like a garden,
Or wrists, like a chain, that prevented me from leaving your love,

8. But rather words whose inscription poetry has erased,

9. To you belongs God, I have become accustomed to my honor,
So the abode of pleasures is not like my abode,

10. Does he not know that my innermost heart,
Refused to approve a glance or moment at first?

ูุคุงุฏู ุฃุจู‰ ุฃู† ูŠุฑุชูŽุถูŠ ู„ุญุธูŽ ุฃูˆู„ู

11. Yes, my soaring is not based in reality,
Nor is my rising to eminence unrestricted,

12. Ask the horizon about me, it is a narcissus meadow
Whose streams are parted by a brook,

13. And how can I intend while the stars are spying,
Gleaming in the darkness with the belt of Cassiopeia,

ูกูฃ. ูˆูƒูŠู ุงุนุชุฒุงู…ูŠ ูˆุงู„ู†ุฌูˆู…ู ุฃุณู†ู‘ุฉูŒ
ุชู„ู…ู‘ุนู ููŠ ุงู„ุธูŽู„ู’ู…ุงุกู ู…ู† ุญู„ูู ู‚ุณุทูŽู„ู

14. And how did I knock on the door of caution - disliked is he
Whose Lord disapproves despite the efforts of the devoted worshipper,

ูกูค. ูˆูƒูŠููŽ ุทุฑู‚ุชู ุงู„ุญูŽุฐู’ุฑูŽ ูŠููƒุฑูŽู‡ู ุฑุจู‘ู‡ู
ุนู„ู‰ ุฑุบู… ุฃู†ูู ุงู„ุณุงู‡ุฑู ุงู„ู…ุชุจุชู‘ู„ู

15. And I embraced the branch of the acacia for a fair one's kiss
And I kissed the full moon's light for a young beauty,

16. And am I not a Yemeni spring,
Green are its branches at the hilltop,

ู…ู†ุถู‘ุฑุฉู ุงู„ุฃูู†ุงู†ู ููŠ ุฑุฃุณู ูŠุฐู’ุจูู„ู

17. Whose roots were watered by Al-Numan with water of glories,
So every branch bore the finest fruits,

18. And whoever's breast has Ahmad the Shaykh of the religion as its master,
He lengthened through him the hand spans of aid and the words of virtue,

19. An imam - I met time robbed of such as him -
So I clothed him in the description of the most honorable and venerated,

ูุฃู„ุจุณุชูู‡ ูˆุตููŽ ุงู„ุฃุนุฒู‘ ุงู„ู…ูุญุฌู‘ู„ู

20. God established through him the Sacred Law so its pillars
Were exalted above the heavens and rise high,

ูขู . ุฃู‚ุงู…ูŽ ุจู‡ ุงู„ู„ู‡ู ุงู„ุดุฑูŠุนุฉูŽ ูุงุนุชู„ุชู’
ุฏุนุงุฆู…ูู‡ุง ููˆู‚ูŽ ุงู„ุณูู…ุงูƒู ูˆุชุนุชู„ูŠ

21. He interprets every unclear meaning of its vocabularies
And opens every locked one of its strongholds,

ูˆูŠูุชุญู ู…ู† ุฃุนูˆุงุตู‡ุง ูƒู„ู‘ูŽ ู…ูู‚ู’ููŽู„

22. And were it not for Ahmad, the religion of Ahmad
Would not know which authentic and sound, and which unsound,

ูขูข. ูˆู…ุง ูƒุงู† ู„ูˆู„ุง ุฃุญู…ุฏูŒ ุฏูŠู†ู ุฃุญู…ุฏู
ู„ูŠุฏุฑูŠ ุตุญูŠุญูŒ ุณุงู„ู… ู…ู† ู…ูุนู„ู‘ูŽู„

23. Nor would its preservers recognize between a connected transmission,
Raised through him, or one mursal and incomplete,

ูŠูุนู†ู’ุนูู†ูู‡ู ุฑูุนุงู‹ ูˆู„ุง ุจูŠู†ูŽ ู…ุฑุณู‘ู„ู

24. The reed pens of precedence craved him as a beloved,
So how strange is it for the unhurried predecessor!

ูขูค. ู‡ูˆู‰ ู‚ุตุจุงุชู ุงู„ุณู‘ุจู’ู‚ู ููŠ ุงู„ุนู„ู… ูˆุงุฏูุนุงู‹
ููˆุง ุนุฌูŽุจุงู‹ ู„ู„ุณุงุจู‚ู ุงู„ู…ุชู…ู‡ู„

25. They nurtured him to the noble horsemen, so there are horsemen
Whose pens suffice instead of carrying a tail,

ูขูฅ. ู†ูŽู…ุงู‡ู ุงู„ู‰ ุงู„ููุฑุณ ุงู„ูƒุฑุงู…ู ููˆุงุฑุณูŒ
ุจุฃู‚ู„ุงู…ูู‡ู… ูŠุบู†ูŽูˆู’ู†ูŽ ุนู† ุญู…ู’ู„ู ุฐููŠู‘ูŽู„ู

26. When they capture ideas for the fingers they extend
Straight to literary compositions, not missing with a spear-thrust,

ูขูฆ. ุฅุฐุง ุงุนุชู‚ูŽู„ูˆู‡ุง ู„ู„ุฃู†ุงู…ู„ู ุณุฏู‘ุฏูŽุชู’
ุงู„ู‰ ุงู„ุฎูŽุทู’ุจู ุญุชูุงู‹ ู„ุง ูŠุฎูู„ู‘ู ุจู…ู‚ู’ุชูŽู„ู

27. They are the family of Chosroes but their upbringing
Nurtured them to the Prophet's Family, the Messengers,

ูขูง. ู‡ู…ู ุขู„ู ูƒุณุฑู‰ ุบูŠุฑ ุฃู†ู‘ ุชูู‚ุงู‡ูู…ู
ู†ู…ุงู‡ู…ู’ ุงู„ู‰ ุขู„ู ุงู„ู†ุจูŠู‘ ุงู„ู…ุฑุณู‘ูŽู„ู

28. They have extensive houses of virtue along the Euphrates,
Spacious for the guest of glory, not in the abode of Juljul,

ูขูจ. ู„ู‡ู… ุฏูˆุฑู ูุถู„ู ุจุงู„ูุฑุงุชู ูุณูŠุญุฉูŒ
ู„ุถูŠูู ุงู„ู…ุนุงู„ูŠ ู„ุง ุจุฏุงุฑุฉู ุฌูู„ุฌูู„

29. And it suffices them in guarding the ink as a matter of pride
He arose so he aims for the stars from the height,

ูขูฉ. ูˆุญุณุจูู‡ูู… ุจุงู„ุญูุงุธู ุงู„ุญูŽุจู’ุฑู ู…ูŽูู’ุฎูŽุฑุงู‹
ุนูŽู„ุง ูู‡ูˆ ูŠุฑู†ูˆ ู„ู„ูƒูˆุงูƒุจู ู…ู† ุนูŽู„ู

30. The gifts flow from his cheerful face,
Blinking from the lightening of his merry eyes,

ูฃู . ุชุณูŠุฑู ุงู„ุนูŽุทุงูŠุง ู…ู† ุฃุณุฑู‘ุฉู ูˆุฌู‡ู‡
ู…ุฎุงูŠู„ูŽ ุจุฑู‚ู ุงู„ุนุงุฑุถู ุงู„ู…ุชู‡ู„ู‘ูู„ู

31. The oceans of knowledge overflow from his wit,
So if you are thirsty, resort to the best spring,

ูฃูก. ุชููŠุถู ุจุญุงุฑู ุงู„ุนู„ู…ู ู…ู† ู„ู‡ูŽูˆุงุชูู‡
ูุฅู† ูƒู†ุช ุธู…ุขู†ุงู‹ ูุฑูุฏู’ ุฎูŠุฑูŽ ู…ู†ู‡ูŽู„ู

32. Of a rhyme never created in a poet's expression,
And a verse never composed by one who sends messages,

ูฃูข. ูู…ู† ุณุฌุนุฉู ู„ู… ุชูู„ู’ููŽ ููŠ ู„ูุธู ุดุงุนุฑ
ูˆู…ู† ููŽู‚ู’ุฑุฉู ู„ู… ุชุฃุชู ู…ู† ู…ุชุฑุณู‘ูŽู„

33. And God has expressions He sanctified which He observes in him,
As if pearls, if they were stars, their nights

ูฃูฃ. ูˆู„ู„ู‡ ุฃู„ูุงุธูŒ ุฌูŽู„ุงู‡ุง ูŠุฑุงุนูู‡
ูƒุนูู‚ู’ุฏู ุจุฃุฌูŠุงุฏู ุงู„ุทุฑูˆุณู ู…ูุถู‘ูŽู„ู

34. Would be overtaken by the dawn when it emerges,
The sons of caprice are incapable of every problem,

ูฃูค. ู„ุขู„ุฆ ู„ูˆ ูƒุงู†ุช ู†ุฌูˆู…ุงู‹ ู„ุบุงุฏุฑูŽุชู’
ู„ูŠุงู„ูŠู‘ูู‡ุง ูˆุงู„ุตุจุญู ู…ุง ู„ุงุญูŽ ูŠู†ุฌูŽู„ูŠ

35. Not the sons of caprice, the crew of Ibn Muqbil!
Oh Ahmad, the praiseworthy from every speaker,

36. On every meaning in the termination of every abode,
Days envied you, so you do not cease to be

ูฃูฆ. ููŠุง ุฃุญู…ุฏู ุงู„ู…ุญู…ูˆุฏูŽ ู…ู† ูƒู„ู‘ู ู†ุงุทู‚ู
ุนู„ู‰ ูƒู„ ู…ูŽุนู†ู‰ ููŠ ููŽู†ุง ูƒู„ู‘ ู…ู†ุฒู„ู

37. The hope of the noble visitor and traveler,
The holidays return to you a thousand, its like,

ูฃูง. ุชุญุงุณุฏูŽุชู ุงู„ุฃูŠุงู…ู ู…ู†ูƒ ูู„ุง ุชุฒู„ู’
ู…ูู†ู‰ ุงู„ู‚ุงุฏู…ู ุงู„ุฌุฐู„ุงู†ู ูˆุงู„ู…ุชุฑุญู‘ูู„ู

38. And if you wish a thousand after that, so desire!
