1. The ants were angered by our mosque
By which everyone knows them

2. If we had demolished its building one morning
Their names would have been wiped out forever

3. Their name is in it and they are its neighbors
And its name is forever for Amr ibn Asad

4. Whenever they prayed we divided the reward
So it gets half for every body

5. And the living ants of Dodan are chiefs
The house of glory and multitude settled among them

6. And I surely spirit away on a fast-paced steed
Whose brisk waters split as they pour

7. Frolicking, its saliva flies from its enjoyment
Its skin almost shreds from its exertion

8. Until I ascended with it the steep slope of a valley
Now descending into it, now climbing back up
