1. O you who are spiritually wealthy preserve your treasures
And protect them from the thieves of time

2. For how deceitful is impetuous time with its people
And how numerous are its harms in life and age

3. And how happy is the sincere friend in it and his effort
Righteous with the light of truthfulness in private and public

4. Unlike him, his disagreement has increased in it
As if Sirius accompanied the dawn

5. As if the souls of people in it are drowning
In a time like a turbulent sea with sin and blasphemy

6. Yet there is a separation between the drowning in seas
And one drowning in sins and burdens

7. The one drowning in water survives hoping for life
While the one drowning in sin is dead over embers

8. If the inevitable is at hand, stand with us
We tear the dress of money with asceticism in the wastelands

9. We entered the world naked and we will surely
Leave it naked, no doubt in the matter

10. So if you come out while your heart is where your treasures are
You will see what the sailor sees where the seas meet

11. It would be ugly of us to desire misguidance like guidance
And we consider the easy better than the difficult

12. Our death follows us
And our ambition is in the transient things of life

13. So the world distracts us and folds our lives
And we have of it nothing but folding and unfolding

14. And it is followed by eternity and the action looks
To good then evil in prohibition and command

15. So strange are people intoxicated with desire's sleep
Intoxicated, awake, set out on the journey of the journey

16. If a desire steals us, it tricks us
With its pleasure, and game is caught with trickery

17. But it guides those who love it
And are passionate about it to procrastination, doom and loss

18. It profits from where you know its lies
And makes you lose from where you do not know

19. Its beginning is easy and sweet is its taste
And its ending bitter - more bitter than aloes

20. I left the white privileges until I regretted
I left the black deaths by the red swords

21. If a hireling takes payment from it
He is like a captive, captured without pay

22. So the best that you will meet in it is piety
And the ugliest that meets you in it is what degrades

23. So happy is the person if he deems its beauty ugly
And wretched is he if he does not know

24. Its seasons contain both inferior and good
And how excellent is building on solid rock in it

25. If you throw good, you obtain good and if you throw
Evil, you will find it. Swords at the throat

26. And we witnessed examples of what we saw
In the patience of Job, Lot and Adam

27. Adam in Paradise lost his pride
While Lot in Sodom dressed himself with pride

28. In the abode of the living, one who lived in luxury died
While in the abode of the dead one with remembrance lived

29. And Job in both states emerged victorious
In the state of wealth, glory, humility and poverty

30. It is the intellect in man, if he strays and is guided
He has full choice in prohibition and command

31. Oh our days, you were nothing but business
And you were stolen by frivolity, play and intoxication

32. I sinned and repeated my sin but did not find
Salvation for my repentant soul from reckoning

33. And I compose in myself bonds of sins
And I scatter the loss of moments from my life

34. Until I bent the soul from the paths of guidance
And wasted my life in it with prose and verse

35. And here I am, confused by the sound of resurrection
When God summons me from the side of the grave

36. I repent but the repentance has no constancy
In a life whose burdens are like water mixed with wine

37. People saw a day of recompense and justice ruling
Let alone justice subtler than thought

38. And each clad in robes of regret
Except those perfected in private and public

39. How bold are the martyrs though battle rages
They faced the adversity of death in white and brown

40. How happy are the ascetics when their effort is complete
They repelled the desires of pleasures in black and yellow

41. And how beautiful are the righteous whose clothing is righteousness
Seeking the glory of God in green attire

42. When the pure witness a towering glory
Theirs, while they are to it as the sun to the moon

43. They compose a praise when their lives are complete
Glorifying over grief, distress and poverty

44. And your Lord gazes at them with a pleased eye
For they pleased Him with gratitude and thanks

45. While the wicked plunge into misery and loss
To the abode of Hellfire’s disgrace in humiliation and coercion

46. As if those fires, while above them,
Are mountains of lead, not mountains of stone

47. They wish they were never born, then buried,
Promised no resurrection or reckoning after

48. You see some enraptured in the love of the One who
Reached them with perfection like the full moon at its brightest night

49. They have become brothers of superiority and kinship
To a Master of Grace with might and victory

50. For they did not walk the path of wickedness
And they perfected themselves with a body beyond the filth of shackles

51. A person is born nothing but doubles
And his weakness is only of the womb and grave

52. His birth by the womb comes with adversity
While his birth by the grave is for religion and reward

53. I asked You, my Master, for the hour of my birth
From the grave when corpses rise for assembly

54. Favor, pardon, forgiveness and mercy
For she who poetry flows praising her in prose and verse

55. And to her the best of all creation submitted
Let alone the best who incarnated from the best

56. If you call upon her one day, her affection will answer you
I facilitate one who prays through Maryam in hardship

57. Through me humanity was saved after its ruin
And through me faith pulled the forelock of blasphemy

58. Through me Satan was seized bound
A captive with no hope of release from captivity

59. Adam was ruined for Eve's sake
While through me he rose living, granted pardon from my purity

60. Through Eve, shame fell bitterly while
Through my grace, glory flows eternally

61. So happy is one who comes seeking me
In repentance, pardon and forgiveness of sins

62. I came to you, refuge of sinners, hoping
for your relief on the Day of Resurrection and Reckoning
