1. My hardship is the greatest hardship
It does not give the heart any rest

2. Every day I have new troubles
My worries fall short before it

3. And there are cares that are forgotten
Giving thanks and praise to my Lord

4. So I am alone in this life
With only time as my enemy

5. Who will protect me from an enemy
Other than the One to whom all turn?

6. Oh my God, which day
Will the worried one attain maturity?

7. So my concerns are ready
And my worries are prepared

8. Disasters and misery
Whose limit sharpens its edge

9. Whenever we say we will rest
The greatest intensity comes upon me

10. And the dearest people to me
I have become the most wretched to them

11. I had a brother in afflictions
By God, he was a comfort to me

12. He left me though he was my support
Then I went against him

13. I am confused by what has afflicted me
I complain only to God
