1. If a man's soul is not stained by sin
He can ascend to the heights of heaven on a ladder
١. إذا المرء لم تَدْنَس من الإثم نفسُه
يطيرُ إلى عالي الجنان بسُلَّمِ
2. And he who scorns fame, his downfall disappears
Seeking exaltation through God, so scorn to be honored
٢. ومن يحتقر شاناً يزولُ انقلابُه
يؤهَّلْ لشان اللَه فاحقَرْ تُكَرَّمِ
