1. Rise with me, O brother of affection, in the morning,
Let us seize the breeze of youthful passion,

2. In gardens where the breeze is a messenger,
Among people who deemed mirth a profit,

3. And where the warbler trilled when passion
Stirred our hearts and awoke longing.

4. Ask not about the tale of my love,
And my infatuation, for no tale conveys it fully.

5. O you whose locks rouse a fire of passion,
So that tears flow plenteously from me,

6. Recite to me the praise of Maryam Alia,
In her spacious sanctuary I found rest.

7. O God protect the valley for her sake,
Increase its sanctity, bless its soil and slopes!

8. For us are its gardens and meadows,
Retreats where we may dwell in palaces.

9. O heart that melts, being tender,
My inner self wounded by love of loved ones,

10. The hour of visitation is but a slice
Of time with a beloved who jests with you.

11. No matter if toil befalls me openly
And my love increases toil upon toil,

12. For my heart adorns Maryam with love,
And love adorns my praise of her.

13. In my love for you, Maryam, is a heart
Ever heedless, so it accepts no advice,

14. And a heart that melts in love for you,
And eyes that shed tears copiously.

15. By my father and myself, a pure maiden
Whose love made me better and awake!

16. Spare me talk of Hind and Lubna
And Sulayma, Zaynab, and turn away,

17. And relate to me the story of the daughter
Of a Prophet, your speech is truer.

18. She is a virgin, and in virginity a mother -
O Imam of guidance, increase my understanding!

19. In truth she reconciled heaven and earth,
Before Maryam we found no reconciliation.

20. Through her all creation is a portion,
She is a sun who shows you the night as morning.

21. O heaven whose praise God increases,
And you repeat the praise of Him who glorifies!

22. Grant me in your precincts a warbling nightingale,
For my praise is made praise through this.
