1. Youthfulness and passion intermingled in my heart,
So here I am, never fully awake, lost in reverie.

2. I secluded myself, my heart preoccupied with love,
So suffice it for a heart to busy itself with seclusion.

3. I concealed a fire kindled in embers,
Revealing its traces in glowing coals.

4. Yet in love and longing I was unjust,
Delicate, dense with purpose and desire.

5. I see frankness as better than allusion,
Is disguise and false pretense possible?

6. So I recite a verse whose balance love adorned,
With Maryam in prosody it is perfection.

7. Since I comprehended, though my praise of her traits,
Is inevitable, neither novel nor pretentious.

8. She was honored and honored with this, transcendent
Above all others, the settled and nomad bow to her.

9. Where is the virtuous angel? Where is her equal?
He is beneath her station, beneath that station.

10. Except for the prophets and messengers in her sphere of superiority,
Alas, no enemy can reach her superiority.

11. She ascended until close to her Lord when ascended,
Becoming His mother, blessed is that ascent!

12. Chastity adorned her among women,
As a cypress tree adorns a garden.

13. O bard, choose the sweetness of praising her,
Recalling her makes that sweetness sweet for us.

14. Do not mention purity but for her,
No good in life without its quintessence.

15. Behold, the quintessence of love are two precious ones,
Bring for her precious things, where are her treasures?

16. You have taken possession, O maiden, of my faculties,
Your love for me in each part a portion.

17. No part of my being remains undivided
For another, all of me belongs completely to all of you.

18. I sway intoxicated when you disrobe me with your mention,
As a supple bough sways when breeze sways it.

19. Erase my sin when I come obedient,
If not for sin, how would pardon be known?
