1. My heart is a bird imprisoned in thoughts
My body is a wolf in my imaginings

2. My soul toils fruitlessly
It is said there is awe therein and fear

3. Wondrously, there is evil in my goodness
My life bound by laws, preserved from time

4. And yet I bear the unjust upon my back
My fate from my roots is entanglement

5. The devils of fate and destiny
Slave to my nature, therein is my work

6. My thoughts in times of intoxication
Returning to my sins like a thread

7. Living like snakes in holes
Defiantly flowing to my Lord

8. Intoxicated of mind without wine
I've become like deaf ears

9. Wandering in the wilderness and settlements
My mind circles in our world

10. My body circles in brotherhood
My work like the dead without senses

11. As if my ignorance is in a grave
My tongue unleashed without discipline

12. As if I am among lions or leopards
My sermon and words without action

13. You see me like worthless plants in flowers
My tears from my dryness from my beloved

14. An ocean in an ocean in an ocean
Flowing like tar upon my cheeks

15. Scorching my dryness from wakefulness
And that hour for me is hope

16. Vast, or pure in vastness
The throne of God I set in poison

17. So not the light of sun or moon
Peace be upon you my Lord when you appeared

18. The light of a radiance and bestowed light
