1. How strange that you, a virgin, became pregnant
With a Lord exalted in wonders

2. You gave birth to Him and raised Him as a child
He suckles at your breast though a suckling babe

3. Whenever He took milk, you gave it gladly
With a noble newborn of high moral traits

4. You truly opened the gate of eternal life
So that even a sinner repenting may enter

You are His wall and His shining lamp
