1. Roll up your sleeves and get to work,
And stick to piety, leave laziness,

2. And take the paths of glory and piety,
And leave the mention of worldly desires and comfort.

3. Abandon words that bring no benefit,
And do good deeds, you will gain.

4. With the remembrance of God, immerse yourself,
Do not be preoccupied with anything but the Exalted God.

5. Fear God with the piety of a pure-hearted servant,
Whose heart is for God in every deed.

6. Indeed, the best provision is God-consciousness and the best
Destination is for those who returned knowledgeable.

7. Help yourself with the Quran as education,
For in the Quran is the interpretation of everything.

8. Memorize the law and repeat studying it,
Always, at all times, do not get bored.

9. Read poetry with eloquent, flawless rhymes,
For it is the record of the finest thought.

10. Indeed, in poetry there is clear wisdom,
As Ahmad, the best of messengers, said.

11. Set your intention for God and do not be
A fool, and ask about that and inquire.

12. Do not say a word or act without intention,
Listen to what I say and do not get weary.

13. Do not argue if an ignorant person argues
About matters, for argument is the kin of ignorance.

14. And if you say "yes", then act on it,
The wise man, if he speaks, acts.

15. Leave excessive association, for whoever
Visits frequently, increases love, even if he associates.

16. And leave the vile person alone, do not advise him,
The vile person is like worn-out clothes.

17. If you fix him, he will not be fixed,
Every time you patch part of him, it comes loose.

18. Accustom yourself to patience and do not
Worry any day when calamity befalls.

19. And if you want to buy things,
Steal them from the just people, do not inquire.

20. So if something is offered to you, take it,
Do not say “Where did you get it?” and eat.

21. Know that all your worldly life
Is ambiguities - if you are aware in it, you will stray.

22. Rarely does a pure seed escape
From every defect or blemish.

23. You will not be asked about what
You do not know or consider permitted.

24. Rather, you will be asked about your knowledge of something
Or if you misguided others in some matter.

25. So leave chatter and stick to what you see,
For sunlight makes Saturn dispensable.

26. And if you keep company, then accompany
One honest in speech, just if he judges.

27. So if he grants you loyalty, then keep
His friendship and overlook if a fault appears from him.

28. If he was a loyal friend before,
Then remember his favors and plan.

29. Likewise, hide your secret, striving
To conceal it from all people, O man!

30. Indeed, evil is like embers in ashes,
It flares up, or like a burning fire.

31. None can conceal it except those
Whom God, the Eternal Lord, willed.

32. And stick to consultation, and if you consult
On a deed, do not oppose and comply.

33. Eat of the edibles whatever you wish and do not
Wear luxurious or shiny clothes.

34. And if you want marriage, then take
A woman of average beauty, and reject the perfect.

35. Likewise, I forbid you from marrying one
Whose ugly character, unlike the virtuous ladies.

36. Those of good character are like one
Who settled in a garden - what an excellent place!

37. Or like land watered at dawn,
Then the rain saturated it and flowed.

38. He picks from every lovely flower
And sips the nectar as sweet as honey.

39. So memorize this description and be prudent,
Leave ignorance and take my advice and say:

40. Cut off hopes from the money of mortals
And seek refuge in God - an excellent trustee!

41. When one’s soul hopes for the money
Of someone he befriends, he is disgraced.

42. But when the soul of a man is content,
His prestige among them is great and he is revered.

43. Hoard money and spend a bit of it,
On every poor and needy person who asks you.

44. Do not spend it all on them,
You will regret it - people are enemies of the giver.

45. Money is only for conspicuous dignity,
While lack of it in your life is disgrace.

46. Your worldly life becomes visible through money
And through deeds in the hereafter.

47. Leave miserliness and do not take
Its paths - for greed has killed many.

48. I see people befriend a wasteful youth
And hate one who is stingy.

49. Do not let desires deceive you whenever
Money increases, so you fall in ruins.

50. Most people, when money increases
In their hands in worldly life, go astray.

51. Qarun was only brought down because of wealth,
From what he had worked in the lands.

52. So if you are given it, then act
By what is in the Great Quran.

53. And leave what will cause distress
If the questioner knocks anxiously.

54. The free man is only equal to his peer,
Do you see the free men ranked the same?

55. In all the world, you do not see two friendly
People unless for specific reasons.

56. And the tongue of man is a cutting sword
That kills its owner if he slips.

57. The wounds of speech do not heal with time
While the wounds of the sword heal eventually.

58. If your speech is all roses,
People will pick it. Silence is honey.

59. Let your silence be reflection, do not stay
Motionless except with an anxious heart.

60. Leave grudges, malice and do not
Insist on arrogance. Avoid one who jokes.

61. Leave off relatives and do not sever ties with them
For God saves whoever maintains family ties.

62. Do not visit each day once,
Everyone you love, so boredom afflicts you.

63. It suffices to visit each month once
If you are nearby.

64. Or he may be far away, relocated,
Then visit each year once or less.

65. Once in each year, not more,
Do not increase, leave nagging.

66. Only stay with him a few days
A day, or three, or less.

67. Likewise, if he visits you, say
“Welcome, O one who has returned to us."

68. And meet him with cheer and kindness, do not
Meet him with sternness if he descended upon you.

69. And if an old friend reconciles with you, reconcile
With complete loyalty - do not seek change.

70. So if he slips, reproach him little
For his mistake - pardoning is best for a man.

71. Then examine all people - do you see
Anyone but with faults, even if a hero?

72. Take their outward behavior and leave
The hidden. Avoid the ambiguous.

73. Pluck fruits whenever you can
Seize an opportunity from them and leave failing.

74. And protect the neighbor, even if he is
An annoying neighbor - protecting the neighbor bridges gaps.

75. And provide for him if he has a family,
From the dew of your palms or from your excess.

76. And accept the excuse from the sinner if
He presents his excuse truthfully - do not blame.

77. Do not be harsh, hard-hearted,
Antagonizing those around you, relatives and in-laws.

78. Look after whoever looked after you in all the world
And accept good deeds from him if he did.

79. And show good deeds and distribute them
Upon every poor person and beggar who asks you.

80. Charity covers defects, and likewise,
Stinginess exposes flaws among people.

81. Do not let hopes in the horizon
Deceive you that the world is eternal.

82. Rather, the world is like a shadow,
And if something escapes you, do not say

83. "If only it was mine", hoping and perhaps.
For wishful thinking is foolishness, so do not

84. Be a fool if something departs.
And be content with what is given, even if

85. Little - the wise one is content with less.
And train the self, make it used to

86. Working good and the path of righteousness.
It is like a child, if you wean it

87. From breastfeeding, it will be separated from it.
And if you neglect it, it will grow up

88. Loving the breast - its habit will persist.
Discipline it while you are still young

89. For it is difficult when one grows old.
So the deed becomes an inseparable habit,

90. Never clearing like kohl.
It is said whoever grows up doing something

91. And does not refrain, grows old doing it and it becomes difficult.
And if an adversity afflicts you, then do not

92. Despair in the matter - the world constantly turns.
One time it gives you pure wine, and likewise

93. One time it gives you sweet honey.
This is its habit - it passed upon

94. Nations before us - do not be preoccupied.
For if you get a taste of it,

95. Be sure after a little it withers.
Its riches do not last in it, nor

96. Do our roots remain in it forever.
So if you desire eternity, constantly,

97. And to see good in the highest places,
Be like Sultan bin Sayf among people

98. And follow his footsteps then take them as an example.
He is praised for his agreeable character

99. Which covered the lowlands and mountains with generosity.
He is the sword of God on earth against

100. Those who transgressed and distinguished themselves with ignorance and went astray.
If he is mentioned in a gathering,

101. Bodies are healed from all illnesses.
A King whose opinion his swords are,

102. His actions have limits that do not waver.
And a generous man - if a critic comes to him,

103. He says “Come now, generosity and justice came first."
And a courageous man who taught knights in

104. War how to wield weapons and swords.
Do not underestimate the strength of his hands with the sword

105. If it became excited then rested from the battle.
His generosity had an effect on us like

106. The kissing of palms affected his resting hands.
His favors circled the necks of people

107. So they cannot be removed from their necks.
O youth of the King Al-Murtada,

108. You surpassed the people of earth in benevolence.
Your good character excelled, so no one

109. Prevailed except those who were superior to people.
Send your prayers to enemies in their homelands

110. For they invade us if you do not pray.
And if you pray a skirmish against them,

111. Make the strike generous, do not weaken.
