1. The pillar of faith, knowledge and guidance passed away
Ali ibn Mas'ud, descendant of Muhammad

2. Descendant of Ali, progeny of the valiant Mas'ud
Progeny of the praiseworthy, progeny of the brilliant Mahmud

3. Descendant of the most Praiseworthy, whom we knew
Succeeded each other, lord after lord

4. He passed away generously in the spring of his death
And left behind in us every shattered whole

5. A hundred and forty and four have passed
In the fixed count before ten

6. In the era of Ibn Sultan ibn Saif ibn Malik
The guiding imam, the honoured, victorious Saif

7. And pray to the God of the Throne for what the brilliant sun shone
Upon the Chosen Guide Prophet Muhammad

8. May God water a grave in which our beloved lies
And may He perpetually water its soil with rain
