١. لا شُغْلَ لي في أولٍ أو حاضرِ
لكنْ فؤادِي في هوَى المستقبلِ
2. For the soul craves what it hopes to get,
And has opened up to a present like the past.
٢. فالنفسُ مولَعة بما قَدْ تَرتجِى
وقد انفتحتْ عَن حاضرٍ كالأولِ
