Have gone astray with their far-off refutation

8. Since we parted I lost my patience
And I accustomed myself to love and sleeplessness

9. O you who have turned away from me
You made me wander aimlessly like a pillar

10. Strangely I want none but you
Yet you bar me from seeing you like a wall

11. You have distanced yourself from me though before
My life with you was happy and content

12. I connected wakefulness at night for long
And I deserted sleep completely

13. You are far away so you have tortured my heart
With your abandonment, severe agony

14. I wish our nights would return
But I expect they never will

15. Perhaps fate will gift me seeing you again
But I expect it never will

16. The passionate think from the severity
Of torture, they will never create something new

17. Tell the people of love, passion, and abandonment
To become rocks or iron

18. All their long life they do not awaken
And they appear to people as skin without feeling

19. Tears confess from them what they hide
In love, if they wanted denial

20. Whenever passion created something new
They renewed it with a new love and renewal

21. The like of this torture, if they endure
They have made their skin into fire, so they have new skins

22. No cure for the lovers from the pain of passion
Except for cheeks to meet cheeks

23. Whoever's heart is tortured, imprisoned
And has fallen deep in love

24. Has no refuge but in eloquence from a shelter
Indeed, his actions were praiseworthy

25. The secretive man, the generous, the loyal
The wise, easygoing, gentle, rightly-guided

26. The protector of the sinner when he comes regretfully
The generous, revered, purposeful

27. The abundant gifts, the kind, praiseworthy deeds
The clear, sweet, sword, commendable

28. O son of the Chosen One, the Imam who
Through him the wretched became happy

29. O son of the most generous people, generosity
Through your hands exists plentifully

30. O son of the generous, your enemies
Through generosity and munificence are witnesses

31. Kings bow down voluntarily
And unwillingly to your sanctity, prostrating

32. You have filled the highest ranks and the nights rain
And humiliated the misguided and enriched pilgrims

33. The free were tempted by your generosity and sacrifice
And you gave them the most so they would be servants

34. You, son of the generous, are greatest in glory
Most eminent in help and sacrifice

35. Most honourable of people and highest in will
Purest in zeal and sacrifice

36. Greatest of kings in worth, truest in
Promises, rank, and vows

37. You are the highest and greatest in status
Army, equipment, and soldiers

38. I want generosity from your basin, still your
Basin of generosity flows

39. Your rule has not ceased to be strong and your
Sacrifice precious, your door sought

40. Your sanctuary glorified and your aid
Overflowing and your enemies expelled

41. Your hand outstretched and your enemies
Poisoned, and your status extended

42. Your halls generous, your dwelling
Lofty, and your enemies lost

43. In spreading it tales and promises are recounted
Radiant as if the sun in brilliance

44. And like lightning met luck
With meanings more delicate than the body

45. Of water but they can melt the frozen
They comfort hearts from every turmoil

46. But they deprive the mean envious
Not all rhymed prose is poetry, nor is

47. Every metre considered glistening beads
