1. A letter reached me from a loving companion,
Pure and faithful, best of friends and companion.

2. Generous, refined, beloved in hearts,
Brave, strong, valiant, talented.

3. A true, honest friend who helped me,
My beloved, whom I love, and best of kin.

4. He's the son of a noble house, its pillar,
Descended from a generous, fitting origin.

5. The intimate of splendor - I mean Muhammad -
A good lad, foremost in rank and station.

6. Your letter came informing me you had heard
That I had fallen from a lofty roof's edge.

7. For a month, I tossed in bed, wrapped
In a shroud, rubbing dirt to my side.

8. Then God, my Lord, blessed me with mercy,
Healing me, lifting my afflictions.

9. By God's grace I was cured of every illness,
Spared from harm and tribulations.

10. Rejoice, my brother, harm has passed;
Partake of joys on every side.

11. Bestow a thousand greetings on the just Imam,
And a thousand peace offerings from a loyal companion.

12. Convey my greetings to Al-Harithi and his company,
The progeny of Masoud, ally of feasts.

13. And whomever you wish of every relative, companion,
Far or near, neighbor or kin.
