1. If you wish to make permissible all command,
Then be harmful and vexing among the people,

2. And do not listen to their gossip,
And do not be among them a weak man.

3. For if the leader is just, then all is
Just with him, and nothing goes amiss,

4. And be in command reasonable and patient,
And do not show your enemies submission.

5. And do not set out on affairs until
You consider their outcomes all together,

6. And consider their beginnings, lest
You see their consequences to be grave calamities.

7. And do not get angry if you are vexed one day,
And do not be among their commands confused,

8. And lessen the words of the group, lest they say
Our leader is a youngster of terrors.

9. And be in forbearance pleased, do not care,
And be bearing burdens skillfully strong,

10. They obeyed the one who truly obeys God,
Their leader, the noble lofty obedient youth.
