1. From my brother Waddad I bring you greetings
My worries are like rain clouds that have brought rainfall

2. And my praise is like fragrant rose petals
Whose aroma is diffused when plucked

3. And the regards of a sincere friend whose affection
Is an old love that has not diminished or become anxious

4. With meanings like glistening pearls
Juicy and more precious than valuable necklaces

5. With lines like the mouths
Of white seashells if they showed a smile

6. And kindness from a compassionate heart
That yearns for meeting and yearns for peace

7. We have singled out with it those whose separation
Exceeded our hopes and transcended the clouds

8. They are the refuge of wellbeing and the cave of purified ones
And summit of glory and succor of orphans

9. And those below all people spend their night
Prostrating to the Lord of the Throne

10. And if they are addressed with ignorance they safeguard
Their honor and say peace

11. And if they pass by the vulgarity of blamers
They deny their words and pass with dignity

12. And so too were the ancestors before
The most faithful of people to their promises

13. For long you have sought it for sale
Or choices so we have bound the matter

14. And refrained, all of us, from selling it
And have not returned to selling it, O regretters!

15. If you intend to buy it
Then come and show me your purpose

16. Or if souls are good with it
Why is this universe in turmoil?

17. By my life, if I write this to you
In explanation, I fear blame

18. And aloofness from me for selling you
Fearing it will stir up my cold

19. It was said to me, sell to other people
I said, what can I say? They said, play dumb

20. I said no, playing dumb is deception
And my deceiving them becomes forbidden

21. I will not forget your kindness even if you move
Far from my dwellings a journey of two thousand years

22. Verily after your remoteness my water has become
Turbid and turned to scum

23. So look at my condition, it has made me worry about sins
