1. Greetings of peace and salutations, a thousand joys
I dedicate especially to the virtuous, well-guided Salim

2. Descendant of the blessed Khamis bin as-Sufi
With whom we have become intimate friends

3. My greetings of peace be upon you at all times
Continuously sufficient - for intimacy has doves

4. We have presented you, O beloved friend, seven poems
And you travelled for a time and returned in peace

5. So generously grant us, out of your excellence
Quickly, as we aspire to your noble traits

6. I ransom you - complete them, for here is our messenger
Khamis al-Musafi has come to you as a guide

7. So convey to him, on loan to be returned
While you are innocent, having averted blamers

8. Far be it from you! Never would you return disappointed
For you have become an intimate, cherished companion

9. If you want anything from us, it will be fulfilled
By the will of God, who has power over affairs

10. We convey special greetings, a blessed son
Greetings of peace, for a lasting affinity

11. And below we have sent you a gift
That will delight you, and we aspire to your gains

12. It will comfort the hearts of lovers as if
A beloved has arrived to his family

13. It will rest the eyelids of those suffering from separation
As if with union it were awakening a sleeper

14. It serves them - fresh pearls - like how
I serve the virtuous son of the Sultan

15. O my God, bless Ahmad, the most noble of mankind
