1. When a young man reaches seventy years
No longer does he care for Zainab or Thumamah

2. Oh! Take off the clothes of play and wear
The clothes of fear for Judgment Day

3. I came to you, hoping to attain my desire
Yet your stars remained upright

4. And you issue verdicts on perplexing affairs
Tirelessness in consultation you do not forbear

5. The wise one in opinion has no peer
No one contests him in perseverance

6. With integrity, piety and righteousness he is bound
Truthfulness, never followed by regret, surrounds

7. He denied opinions, like Abu Sa’eed
In lineage, like Abu Dulamah
