1. We refused to lighten the darkness,
And we tore apart every seam of the matter,
١. وَقِدماً أَبَينا أَن نُقِرَّ ظُلامَةً
وَقِدماً رَتَقنا كُلَّ فَتقٍ مِنَ الأَمرِ
2. How much wealth we robbed from the wealthy
With our swords until he endured hardship,
٢. وَكَم مِن غَنِيٍّ قَد سَلَبناهُ وفرَه
بِأَسيافِنا حَتّى أَقامَ عَلى العُسرِ
3. With blows that remove anxiety from his dwellings,
And stabs with sharpened spearheads,
٣. بِضَربٍ يزيلُ الهامَ عَن سَكَناتِهِ
وَطَعنٍ بِأَطرافِ المُثَقَّفَةِ السُّمرِ
4. And I drank from the sect of Al-Mukhtar before
With blows upon their skulls, nullifying magic.
٤. وَمِن شيعَةِ المُختارِ قَبلُ شَفَيتُها
بِضَربٍ عَلى هاماتِهِم مُبطِلِ السِّحرِ
