1. The day now from the dusk of battle night
And darkness rends its outstretched canopy

2. And on the plains, from strife and truthfulness
Terror made its whiteness turn to redness

3. And the thrust robs the steeds of their vigor
And the blow sparks flames in the armor’s fuel

4. And to the souls, from the battle, outriders
And fear recites their lost composure

5. The land transformed to sea and dawn to night
The firmament now ripped with iron searing

6. And the cavaliers hasten their steeds the most
To obey the flight, leading the mounts ahead

7. Until the passion left wisdom behind
And certainty laid doubts down slain

8. None can avail but Abu Shuja and his fame
To gain victory and Divine support
