1. The west wind blew and bent the slim branches,
And yearning stirred my stillness once again,
2. A heart that sees in everything a friend
To soothe all other hearts that know but pain,
3. Since you departed I have found no joy
To make me lift my heavy lids, not one,
4. My sole complaint that I became distraught
When once my days were gay beneath the sun,
5. And since nobility has left my side
I've proven doubt, while you remain the truth.
