Its land with plants and herbs is gaily attired,

The joy of life, though life itself hath expired.

5. In the shade the antelope dreams in peace,

Like necklaces of pearls profusely showered.

7. Rivulets through the plains meandering run,

10. So come my dear friend, let us sport while we may,
For my soul toward youth and its pastimes hath spired,

11. And leave we all politics, whose devious ways,

12. Who pass all their days surrounded by snares,

13. โTis naught but deceit, and the man therein caught,
โTwixt miseries and grief shall his days dire expire.

14. I owe not the folk and the folk owe not me,

15. We met without pact in this world of deceit,

16. We revel an era then leave it behind,
To doom and despair down its precipice dire.

17. Every man journeys onward his goal to attain,
Each soul with the hidden beyond doth conspire.

18. Oh Lord! Grant me that which my spirit craves,
For it weary with waiting and worldly desire.
