1. You deserve all praise, for all good comes from You,
And I am ever thankful, O Lord of the heavens, for Your blessings.

2. You have granted me every grace,
And refined me, till the clans chose me.

3. So bring near the good that I yearn for,
And distance the evil that I shun.

4. For he whom You deny has no benefactor among men,
And he whom You favour has no foiler among men.

5. No guide fails he who is guided by You to rectitude,
And no champion aids he whom You lead astray.

6. If my soul attains its hopes, yet I do not take
The stand of one compliant with Your commands,

7. Then no morning star shines for me at the peak of glory,
And no bird soars for me to the nest of honour.
