1. O champion of truth against falsehood
Take my right from the hands of my deceiver

2. Who has wronged me with his authority
And did not lament my falling tears

3. He drove me out from what my hands had earned
Of my honest work, without any fraud

4. With no sin except my eloquent speech
As piercing as an unsheathed sword

5. I use it to speak the truth and throw
The necks of enemies into ruin

6. So if I am stripped of my wealth
My Lord’s grace is the raiment of the dispossessed
