1. O dove of the valley, your company is present
And your branch is fruitful, so why do you moan?
١. أَلا يَا حَمَامَ الأَيْكِ إِلْفُكَ حَاضِرٌ
وَغُصْنُكَ مَيَّادٌ فَفِيمَ تَنُوحُ
2. You rose in bliss and delight this morning
Yet my heart is wounded with passion
٢. غَدَوْتَ سَلِيماً فِي نَعِيمٍ وَغِبْطَةٍ
وَلكِنَّ قَلْبِي بِالْغَرَامِ جَرِيحُ
3. If you can help me endure this longing, then shed
A tear, for weeping brings relief
٣. فَإِنْ كُنْتَ لِي عَوْناً عَلَى الشَّوْقِ فَاسْتَعِرْ
لِعَيْنَيْكَ دَمْعاً فَالْبُكَاءُ مُريحُ
4. Otherwise leave me be with your cooing and go away
For a giver is not equal to a miser
٤. وَإِلَّا فَدَعْنِي مِنْ هَدِيلِكَ وَانْصَرِفْ
فَلَيْسَ سَواءً بَاذِلٌ وشَحِيحُ
