1. O morning star, when will the night's reign end?
O morning star, when will the darkness fade?
١. يَا كَوْكَبَ الصُّبْحِ مَتَى يَنْقَضِي
عُمْرُ الدُّجَى يَا كَوْكَبَ الصُّبْحِ
2. The fortress of night has shut its gates.
Recite the Chapter of Victory upon it.
٢. قَدْ سَدَّ حِصْنُ اللَّيْلِ أَبْوَابَهُ
فَاتْلُ عَلَيْهِ سُورَةَ الْفَتْحِ
3. I see its stars have faded,
So it has no hand upon the rosary.
٣. إِنِّي أَرَى أَنْجُمَهُ قَدْ وَنَتْ
فَمَا لَهَا أَيْد عَلَى السَّبْحِ
4. A tailed one appeared rising
As if it were an ear of wheat.
٤. وَقَدْ بَدَا ذُو ذَنَبٍ طَالِعاً
كَأَنَّهُ سُنْبُلَةُ الْقَمْحِ
