1. A phantom that does not cease to invoke for me
From the late night, if I was troubled by sorrows

2. It makes tears tempting with relaxed eyelids
Wherever it shows upon the intestines fires

3. You did not see me and the night matter assembled
My opinion scattered after the phantom, confused

4. You thought I was an intruder who went astray
From it so you folded the horizons under us

5. My patience would have been faithful if I was alarmed by it
In hardships, but in passion it failed

6. So my attainment of it is no use if its attainer
Became inaccessible, everything else seemed lowly

7. O Anah, when the stars receded
Tears streamed from my eyes, bewildered and infatuated

8. It passed by the hearing of Lamiya to intercede for me
If only it would pass by one with a heart of stone, it would soften

9. I almost fulfill my passion while the house is crowded
So what is my state when the time of tryst comes

10. And a night of the nights of union suitable
Our consciences chastened therein and our entities

11. We stayed on the lowland and the darkness is prevalent
On the slopes, striking tents and poles

12. If not for the shine of the dunes I would not have been guided
To the watering places I arrived at, overflowing with drink

13. She sympathizes for my complaint when I grieve for her complaint
And the star above sympathizes for both our grievances

14. I was not heedful except to moans, whenever they separate
From her heart they arrive at my heart as sorrows

15. I tried to reveal some of her clouds' shadows
To let her taste the fruits of sorrows in their different colors

16. I did not mention a single spell or charm I was told
Except I cast it for her secretly and openly

17. So which would seem to me that I wished with it
To remind her of family and homeland

18. She remembered her people the children of Ya'rab when
They were the proudest kings to hold power

19. They ruled kingdoms from India to Al-Andalus
Establishing among them justice and benevolence

20. So the meadow of wishes became, after barrenness
With the drops of her tears, a blossoming verdant garden

21. She said, "I knew the first ancestors planting their roots
To the far branched descendants of Qais and Qahtan

22. From every valiant and honored tribe
That does not sleep soundly however humble it becomes

23. Prestigious among them since the era of Ya'rab
To refuse disgrace eternally and indefinitely

24. So why does not fate make their opinion right
Though some of them sometimes err in view

25. Inform the people about Lamiya, a queen
Whom the nobles and commons equally adored

26. Our souls were not freed from the shackles of the Turks
Until we remain slaves, not owned by the Turks

27. Blood of the chaste spilled and souls
Along with ardent zeal are leaving bodies

28. And who sacrificed gray haired elders and youth alike
To attain the heights in every battle

29. That an arm of our homelands becomes violable
In the Sinai plains or in the sorrow of Lebanon

30. And who will the blood be the price of independence
Will not afterwards face loss after profit"
