1. May God protect you; this oath and neighbor
You have no helpers or supporters against you

2. They arbitrated, and when arbitration is with them
It is compulsion, and when there is choice, it is coercion

3. A wondrous case that makes one laugh and cry, ask
About its circumstances (the delegation) and cite as evidence for it (Garu)

4. No reasoning is sound in its contradictions
And no standard is correct in its measures

5. The opponent judges and the judge in it is negligent
And truth is vanquished while falsehood is embellished

6. When the lawyer assists the opponent in harm
I wonder who will attain vengeance

7. Tell the oath-taker, and the best words are the most truthful
What ails an army that retreated while it is fierce?

8. After twenty years between our shoulders
It did not protect a frontier, nor did it defend a house

9. My covenant with it provokes the anger of an infant
What is wrong with it today, being gentle and patient?

10. I seek refuge for it lest they say about it: A tyrant
Upon the weak, and in calamity, a coward

11. Oh you who wears a garment proudly because of its newness
Look, for fire has caught onto its hem

12. Maybe you claim the matter was decreed without
Your knowledge; is there any excuse in that?

13. It rules against our right unjustly while we have
No knowledge - by your life, this submissiveness and disgrace!

14. Woe to the weak, and shame on the strong when
There is no recourse left for justice, no issuance or decree

15. When kingdoms do not establish its foundations
Upon tongues, then the structure will collapse

16. They said (Al-Jazeera) does not accept your rule
There is nothing in (Al-Jazeera) but oil and tar

17. The dwellings of (Amr bin Kulthum) which
Your fate's jest fills with drunkenness and dissipation

18. Of refugees, newcomers, and sons of Sabila
On their backs are lashes from (the Turks)

19. (Tayy) and (Taghlib), did their horsemen sleep
So that a donkey brays in the battle?

20. A vulgar story, the prompter's voice from
Behind his screen like thunder, rattling

21. O children of (Arabness), how many war cries have passed
That if the dead were awakened by them, they would rise

22. If you understood the lessons of events
Where, oh where are the minds and insights?

23. Wombs are related, and the house gathers
So why are wombs severed and homelands torn apart?

24. They reproach you for the state of every people from your negligence
The status of slaves while the rest of people are free

25. Your great number does not avail you, as if you are
More yet amount to nothing, O zeros...

26. You destroy your homes with your own hands
Ignorantly, all of you, O Arabs, are immersed in darkness

27. I wonder what provokes you?
Permissible zeal, humiliation and impoverishment

28. I see stones more zealous than your noses
How often have sparks sent by flint ignited flames?

29. Your brethren in (Palestine) are afflicted
By evil and aggression, fangs and claws

30. (Cradle of Christ) and (Ascent of the Prophet) and (First of the
Two Qiblas) - in it neither neighbor was safe

31. How often a caravan was ambushed unjustly, and how many
Of the sanctities of (the Noble Sanctuary) were violated

32. Where are the precedents of glory when
Strife and events descend? Verily parties and events are an arena
