1. I fear not the veil of death or destruction
The length or brevity of life are equal to me
١. ولستُ بهيّابٍ من الموت والرَّدى
ولا فرق عندي طال أَو قَصُرَ العمرُ
2. But I dread the parting of loved ones
Noble souls and journeys when the grave embraces me
٢. ولكنَّني أَخشى فراقَ أَحبَّةٍ
كِرامٍ وأَسفار إِذا ضمَّنيَ القبرُ
