5. Has the story of the crown reached you when it fell,
And the throne collapsed when it wavered in Damascus?

6. Comfort the Prophet and lighten the sorrow of the Successor,
For sadness has dwelled in their hearts since that day.

7. And cool the rage of Abu Bakr and his companion,
And console Uthman in speeches that transgressed and were unjust.

9. And heal those of the Abbasids who were rightly-guided,
And the rightly-guided ones, al-Mansur, and al-Mu'tasim.

10. How difficult is sadness when the grieved reveals it,
And how hot it is inside when suppressed!

11. Visit the palace courtyard, the kingโ€™s palace,
Where spilt tears flow copiously.

12. Its spaces are shuddered, for the gloom of separation
Has spread its clouds in its atmosphere.

13. Its deserted music chambers and residences
Have become either dilapidated or completely ruined.

14. And a stand where deathโ€™s humiliation loomed

19. They delivered their souls an excuse in their battles,
And one who delivers his soul is as one who surrenders.

20. Al-Alqami, even if his betrayal was exposed
And he was known between mankind for his treachery,

Or disbelieves in blessings he received.

22. The dinar blinded their eyes when
Their hearts and ears were sealed.

23. They almost destroyed their nation, but themselves-
They almost destroyed, had reason between them been known.

25. O roamer of the earth, are you pleased with what
Its children perpetrated, and those who transgressed or were unjust?

26. Then make their land subside with its storms
And fold the sun and scatter its stars around.

27. And make their waters a chasm for their injustice,
And withhold your sky or rain upon them revenge.

28. O Lord of the Throne, no storm concerns you
That blew upon it out of misfortune that caused gray hairs.

29. For the throne of Your kingdom, its foundations
In the heart of every devotee have been firmly established.

30. And the crown of Your kingdom does not cease to be drawn
As an emblem upon Your forehead for those who see.

31. There is no blemish in leaving the country when
"You are given two choices, composure is lost between them."
