And the clan of Kinanah, when we attacked them,

2. With growling lions in the early gloom -
Their wailing was our music at daybreak.

3. We straighten the bent spear shafts back to true
And death comes to them on our whetted blades.

4. The young warriors of Wajj will tell their kin
Of those whose graves are still mourned over.
