1. O The One who has no child
To support Him in what He forbade and ordered

2. Grant me, through Your power, one who inherits from me
Now that old age has weakened my bones

3. And leave me not, my Lord, alone, for that
Has a meaning with which You exclusively associated among mankind

4. My Lord, by Adam whom You relieved
His loneliness with his offspring, the shining white pearls

5. Be a companion to my loneliness and have mercy
On my solitude with the best newborn boy

6. Answer my prayer and grant me a favorable response to that
Which I complain, O my Master, You of excellent consideration

7. My Lord, by Abraham who erected
The House for those who make Ḥajj pilgrimage and ‘Umrah

8. Make strong the pillar of my strength with a youth who will raise what
My fathers established and revive what has wasted away

9. My Lord, by Moses through whom his mother’s
Eyes were delighted and through him her living was delighted

10. Delight my living, my Master, with a boy
Through whom the soul and eyes are delighted

11. By Your Spirit whom You supported me through the Spirit of Holiness
Support me with a newborn male

12. And by the prophet Zechariah whom You
Granted John as a mercy in old age

13. Grant me, from You, a successor who will revive
My memory and traces among people

14. By Joseph through whom his father
Regained sight after vision had gone

15. Have mercy on me with a boy before
My eyes whiten and improve my sight

16. By al-Khidhr make the meadow of my familiarity green
So it can be said his light adorned the trees

17. And make the fruits of my hopes fresh dates
And leave me not a branch without fruit

18. With whom You created from Your light that
Brightens noble loins

19. Create him as a bright boy in my loins
Through the grace of that shining light

20. By al-Haidar al-Qasura the repeating one
Through whom You strengthened the arm of the master of mankind

21. Strengthen my arm with a goodly newborn
For old age has shattered my back

22. And by the chaste virgin whom You purified
And her progeny, the pure from all filth

23. Grant me a pure lineage and make it,
My Lord, more righteous than its parents

24. And by the guiding Imams, inheritors
Of the knowledge of the Messenger of Allah, the best of the best

25. Make my anguish inherit the treasure and worry
Which my heart hoarded

26. For I have hoarded no treasure but
Pure worry and excellent savings
