1. I have come to where I must sigh from my chest
A sigh that delights poetry for poets

2. I have come to where I must sigh, and with it
I rattle out the truth from what was concealed

3. I have come to where I must have two sighs, though
I see no hesitation from them in wait

4. I have come where I see neither land nor sky
Other than what from passionate love is scattered

5. And I said, I have no body or heart but
What from my passion, memorable, spread

6. And I said, my heart is empty and has
Nothing but the mention of memorable dispersed

7. And I went, I have no secret and my heart is empty
Empty but when memorable is remembered

8. And I went confused, not knowing people or
Concern for them other than memorable I awaited

9. And I stayed not abiding by them, though confined
Remembrance of the abided in me confined

10. And I stayed not looking at the beauty of any but her
So none but her does my soul look to

11. And I asked about him, none hear but I
So no words are heard but what I tested

12. She is the cure and none compare, I saw
With my eyes, and none in our time saw but me

13. She is the cure, brilliant, and the beauty in her
Equaled the dawn suns and surpassed the moon

14. She who took my heart in truth, she
My passion for her is no metaphor by one who composed poetry

15. She gleams at night over a dawn she eclipses
A branch for her, a ring scattering pearls

16. With life for her, her body victorious
And a sword, a dead body for her, with it victorious

17. Alluring and curled, returning, schemed
My heart with love for her, not for others schemed

18. Rebellious and playful, flirtatious
My body and flowers in love not obviously showed

19. Terrified and sly, charming
Beautiful, passionate, incapable, shrewd

20. Singing, coquettish, agreeable, exquisite
Laughing, affectionate, guarding

21. Light, melodious, she scattered
Passion in my heart for her not for others strewed

22. I would have, had I not seen the witness of her creation
And pictured creation from her, leaving forms

23. My Lord is majestic, beautiful, his decree great
Too great to decree when He decreed fate

24. God, majestic in beauty and in
His majesty from the greatest traits immersed

25. And see His traits, you’ll see no traits but
His traits, in truth, if looked at, seen

26. How can any trait appear but Him
When the other with his trait, in truth, unseen?

27. How, when He who in abundance is one
Apparent, esoteric in all things abundant?

28. How, when He who in oneness created
Us and others, manifest or veiled?

29. His existence was not with existence, nor
Will any deny that but disbelievers

30. Whence Him, who alone disposes
Acts, would He see an act, ordered it?

31. So commanders and all ordered
And prohibited, all by Him ordered

32. Gives abundantly with no favor or cause
Thanking Him a harbinger of increase for the thankful

33. So the throne and carpet and the angel who carried
Are His who made them secretly and openly

34. Encompassed knowledge and enumerated the number
Of all that was or will be or has passed

35. Waters hearts a drink from Him of gnosis
Healing their secrets though succinct

36. Waters them from cups of love a drink
Bewitching reason with knowing, brewing

37. If He unveils Himself to hearts, brewing in them
Love forgetting wine’s love, brewed

38. Sweeter and purer than musk and honey
Forgetting singers, were they present

39. Clearer and more manifest than the dawn sun with what
He unveiled without veils from your moonlike eye

40. If beauty knew who saw beauty
God’s making forgot what’s seen and known

41. Or if the name of singers, if known
Their names forgot what commemorated

42. Glory to the Maker of glory
And what is seen melting, was and scattered

43. Glory to the Maker of what has life and what
Has death and what the Resurrection will gather

44. Glory to Maker of this world and its
Affliction, grantor of good, repeller of harm

45. Glory to Him, transcendent above likeness
God transcended being compared to mortals

46. God transcended any traits of people and
Grasping by minds and what in hearts occurred

47. God transcended comprehension of the rational
God greatest beyond comprehension of what's pondered

48. God in secrets and openly transcended
Being matched to what's seen or awaited

49. I praise Him as revealed in scriptures
And beyond scriptures and angels stored

50. I praise Him by every name of His and what
Described Him in endless praise

51. I praise Him, cannot quantify praise as
By Himself praised, All Powerful

52. And by traits and names seek only Him
All my seeking to perfect if good
