1. The tribe of Qais, their eagle will raid at dawn
And return to the tribe's armed and valiant men.

2. Qais ibn 'Amr leads raid upon raid
With a herd of steeds raiding wealth and cattle.

3. When relaxed it is docile, when enraged it charges,
You'd think them jinn when the bridles jingle.

4. When a downpour comes and lightning flashes,
I rain upon them a relentless, heavy storm.

5. If I do not raid your lands at dawn
Like locusts scattered by the winds and arrows.

6. No maiden will lower her veil before me
Nor will my arrows miss when shot with might.
