1. May God reward Jusham ibn Bakr
The horsemen of Najd with the best reward

2. For attacking me at dawn in the valley
Of Al-Akharamayn with swift blows

3. With stabbing like the strikes of knives
The horses in the morning bloodied all over

4. Dancing about with the horsemen like gazelles
The knight of Hijjah turned away cowardly

5. A coward though claiming protector of women
He called out in panic “Where is Amro?”

6. As if I am a loud noise or a water bird
So I stabbed him and said “Take this”

7. Distorted, oozing with blood
The vegetation did not separate for that

8. Nor did the sun in the sky grow dim
We killed seventy of their cowards

9. And drove off with the serving maids’ head scarves
We sought the veiled ladies riding behind

10. Asking for them with the swords’ edges
And we ignited from them the palm trees of a people

11. Like the mange of camels smeared with dung.
