1. Her words adorn her like kohl decorates the eyelids
Has she become impassioned or yearning or has she fallen in love?

2. Or is it for the one who has made the earth exalted through his light
Upon it lights that are exclusively his lights?

3. Convey my greetings and salutations
To the Imam of Oman, Rashid, O you delegates

4. And his companions young and old and their hearts contained
Love for them and support for them

5. All of them, and single out with greetings the one with sublime character
The descendant of Sa`id whom the Eternal Master protected

6. Indeed you have ascended in Islam truthfully
To the supreme rank, good fortune raises you

7. And you have never set out an objective or concluded
Any like it except a patient, steadfast man

8. Forbearing, wise, humble, modest
Chaste, kind, determined, firm as stone

9. The likes of you and prayers and thanks to He
Who has gifted you with this among people and glory

10. And you have rebuilt what the early ones erected and then was destroyed
And revived what they instituted but oblivion erased

11. And you have bestowed when you stood tall gloriously
And all the people happily walked in your procession

12. So you remain praised in the sight of the Lord and the angels
Whether you live or encounter death and afterwards

13. And sufficient for you is the path you intentionally tread
And the garment you wore and a people whom you emulate in pursuit

14. The Abadites, flowers, honorable, virtuous
Their merits manifest in every lofty summit

15. They, they are the rightly guided ones who never
Deviated from the shining truth nor blocked its way

16. So we walk the path they walked and follow
Their way truly until the promise is seen

17. So may the Best Requiter reward them graciously
For what they preferred over all else without rival

18. And you are for us after them made custodian
Bearing the burden of grave affairs the flint makes sparks from you

19. So prepare for the matter, roll up your sleeve and exert effort
And for the prohibition until no opposition remains near you

20. And some of our brothers, brave youths
In the region of Al Ashkhar, valiant, for them ties

21. Among them is a youth ennobled in descent from Khalid
He has tremendous ambitions that soar to the sky

22. And they recounted to us the events with you and what
Lies with you, so Oh what a gift are those guided

23. And what transpired with the sons of Fahd and her sister
`Uqayl, those characterized by aggression which hatred brought on

24. Indeed from the opinions of `Uqayl the support receded
For the descendants of the youth Shadhan and Dilam the rightly guided

25. Likewise Nahd, she has bowed her necks
To support them against enemies, indeed Nahd was rendered helpless

26. They gathered the tribes together and opposed
The armies of Abu Ghassan so the crowds amassed

27. And they marched to meet them with a great rumbling army
But they did not stand firm in the encounter nor strengthen

28. So when the soldiers saw them turn to flee
Like ostriches chased by a lion

29. I said among them in the skirmishes is a group
That plunged into the fight and their blood the panther shed

30. So shame on the cub of the man Shadhan the deluded
And praise be to God when his troops were weakened

31. If they desist from their aggression and retreat
To the camp of Islam, truth, and guidance and return

32. Then welcome, greetings to the clan if they
To you in sincerity to the Lord of the heavens have come

33. And if they insist and call out for us then we
Are near and the people have no alternative to their comrades

34. And what lies between Hadramout Valley and you
If you desire to come to us afterwards

35. Whenever a cry for help reaches us from you
With a great army the expanse is narrowed

36. Elders and youths in the morning heading out
To Hujjah when roses become inaccessible

37. With every firm and sensitive one
Like rays of sunlight we the barren land take on

38. Then we will leave them confused and shatter their zeal
And cut them down until they disburse what they owe

39. And we will traverse the horizons east and west
For our role model or their skin will shudder

40. By the hands of Him who in all the heavens
And earth by compulsion and willingness is worshipped

41. And below is a composition whose understanding elevated him
To disseminate it for the love of brethren

42. Written in Gharr like a sun adorned
For its viewer by determination, radiance and dew

43. He narrated its verse when the excellent arrangement was complete
And separated by prose and lined paper

44. So its scene is wondrous and its hearing a remedy
And its content easy and its diction honey

45. And if a group ever closely watched poetry one day
And all recited poetry I would outdo what they recited

46. And send peace and blessings upon the sent one among the best nation
The God of the heavens and earth for as long as night is dark

47. And the winds spread out their madding confusion by His command
And in them stir their gusts, the dust stirred and murky

48. And in their edges lightning flashes exposed
And rumbles deeply in their turmoil, the thunder roars
