1. Do not grieve for my rising and departure,
And rejoice if I die or return,

2. I am a man who migrated hoping for what
Those who left the world for no cause had hoped,

3. If you knew my state you would not praise
My sleep, nor would my departure make you weep,

4. How long will I live in a land that has
Banned the laws of God and become vile,

5. Which humiliates the brave and shackles
Their feet in chains,

6. The foolish do not think I will waver
From my resolve in a grave matter,

7. There is no choice but to depart and seek
A people of courage who have steeds,

8. They may recognize what they recognize
Of my zeal on the day of clamor and descent,

9. It is enough grief for me what they say, that I am a man
Who has set out only for the worthless,

10. Is it because of the distance they saw
Or do they think brothers in faith are not loyal,

11. What of Bilal and Ibn ‘Awf who set out
In the days of ‘Abdallah at the forefront,

12. They suffice me, even if I do not join them with an army,
To quell with it the sorrows of every anguish,

13. What I have determined for myself to pursue,
As a supporter of the faith, not failing,

14. Is there one proud who can shoot an arrow
At Chosroes intending to meet the Friend,

15. The brothers have treated the nights as I
Treated them in the wings of long nights,

16. It suffices me my son Ahmad or the youth
From Tariq among my equipment and arrival,

17. I honored among the finest youths, I honored them
Calling them the tribe of zeal and beauty,

18. Never have I placed them except they wept
For the religion of guidance from burning and wailing,

19. O Ma’bad O Ahmad travel, for satisfaction
Traveled Abdulillah my dear friend,

20. And head with me to the approved Friend,
The refuge, sanctuary for every newcomer,

21. He who manifested Oman after
The cloud of injustice had covered them with its trails,

22. He who travels a path taken by the turning
Valleys of Quray or the Askar and palms,

23. He who showed us what had passed
From Rashid, Al Salt and the son of departure,

24. He who has never ceased to blame
The Allah-blaming among the unjust,

25. O best successor in God, answer, answer
The call of brothers with acceptance

26. O best successor, our homelands are in ruins
And the ignorant enslave all the nobles,

27. O best successor, we cannot speak of preventing harm
From taking the hidden, and stripping the palm trees,

28. O best successor, if you could see what faces us
Of the neighing of tyranny after the neighing,

29. O best successor, is there any rest for us
From the wrongdoers among us, heedless,

30. O best successor, those who remain after us
Have become drums beaten at prayer niches,

31. O best successor, we have strained for what strained you
In the past from the Delam and ‘Uqayl,

32. O best successor, our markets have become
Markets of debauchery, transgression and corruption,

33. O best successor, it is enough for us that the youth
Rewards the youth in full and honest measure,

34. O best successor, we are overcome so be victorious,
And look after us with sound resolute counsel,

35. And know that wealth, if you bestow it
On the people, you have not deceived them in acceptance,

36. And forgive the sins of a sinner when he says what
Does not please you from a worthless one,

37. And Hellfire is his abode, and the bottom of it is enough
If he desires this boasting and tricks,

38. And praise to Allah who has sanctified
His names from a parent or offspring,

39. Then the finest, highest peace upon
His unlettered Messenger, the best of messengers.
