1. The clouds rained generously on their homes
And those meadows did not dry up or wither.

2. When one cloud departs, another follows
Watering their valleys in succession.

3. My pledge to it in the days of blissful life
When the spring of youth was blossoming.

4. We stopped over it one day and the next
And a third day before our journey continued.

5. We sniff the ruins, our cheeks rubbing them,
And complain of separation to the remnants.

6. How many tales of woe have those meadows
Heard from us as tears flowed copiously!

7. Our covenants with the past that erased your beauty,
Will the nights of intimacy return from you?

8. A heart far from you flutters anxiously
And an eye sheds tears in separation from you.

9. In your nearness, life was pleasant; in your absence,
Grey hairs grew though friends stayed together.

10. When indifference crept into our hearts
And the beloved ones ceased their tossing and turning.

11. But we came from the gardens of the Abode
With pavements laid out for the successful.

12. Our sights are fixed on any beautiful scene
Pleasing to the ears and the eyes.

13. Whoever rules this kingdom will not leave it
Nor will any rival wrest it from him.

14. We gained it in the light of its Master
As the dawn rose for the people of certainty.

15. The armies of heaven defend it
Against the lions of Allah and their goal.

16. Though the task is difficult, it is a refuge
And though the sin is grave, the Lord pardons.

17. The blessings of Yusuf poured upon us
Like copious rain quenching the thirsty.

18. From his good tidings and gifts emerged
Rising suns and pouring rains.

19. Before his accession, the abundant showers
Were likened to the fingers on his hand.

20. May your Lord preserve glory for you thus
And exalt greatness and nurture talents!

21. O Prince of the Exalted! Without you, tranquility
Would be unknown to sleepless, tossing eyes.

22. This peninsula would not have rested a while
With its homelands lying in ruins.

23. Truth would not be known from passions
And the ways would not be paved for the seekers.

24. When unbelief raged in the lands
And greed incited it to annihilate them,

25. God prepared you to champion His cause
And proclaim the truth that demolishes falsehood,

26. Advancing irresistibly like fate
With power from God that time does not impede.

27. You marshaled squadrons of fierce lions
That rush when the summoner stirs them.

28. When they draw the trains of their coats of mail
Like heavy rain clouds appearing in the sky.

29. The generations were energized and war flamed up,
Shaking this vast plain and its expanses.

30. You equipped steeds swift as lightning
Whose charges humble the flashing blades.

31. Dyed with the blood of foes, their coats
Are clad with the weave of dark mantles.

32. Their blades gleam like the dawn – white,
Red, yellow, piercing bright.

33. Before them is the heat mirage of the sands
And the gazelles racing over the arid land.

34. You armed them with forests of spears
That record events with their nibs.

35. Thus the throngs of unbelief, facing their onslaught
Were left like debris scattered by gusting winds,

36. Seeking through surrender the regrouping of their remnants
But reconciliation is impossible when God severs ties!

37. Your door is hoped for, your might revered,
Your aid given freely, your rule prevailing.

38. Your realm supported, your party conquering,
Your sword severing the ways of misguidance.

39. May God grant you all that your swords accomplished
Whenever the calamities of time befell.

40. Who has lineage like yours, even if
Their lines of fathers are enumerated?

41. Eyes have seen your full grandeur
Since you appeared at the feast daybreak.

42. You stepped forward on the feet of majesty
To the one who elevates your abode as God elevates.

43. You revived the rites of the true faith
Through the helpers of God's cause - thus rites thrive.

44. Rows of horsemen approached at nightfall
Obscuring the sights - stalwart and firm.

45. When you completed the feast day and its ritual sacrifice,
Both settler and nomad were fed.

46. You returned to the Abode of the Caliphate and Sublimity
And those dwellings shone with the light of guidance.

47. You presented a generous palm for kissing
From which seekers derive abundant flows.

48. Songs of praise for you circulated
Flowing like breaths within the two houses.

49. May glad tidings on feast days gladden you
With news of victories to follow!

50. Reveal to us the bringer of joyful tidings -
The occasions with him were agonizing for us!

51. So persist as refuge for the faith, protecting its sanctum
When terrors assail your sons one day.

52. Through you, every unattainable fortress
Has been seized, no obstacle blocking your way.

53. The realm of Rome became spoils
As you gained mastery over the necks of captives.

54. The world submitted to you and its unity
Was restored through the faith you propagate.

55. I hope to God as if I see
What God, the Maker, will ordain.
