1. There is naught but what mine eyes have seen
And oft the greeting wearies and fatigues

2. Mankind are either tyrants unjust
Or wandering lost in darkest night

3. If you seek glory scorn earth's petty brood
By Allah none shall bear the brand of shame

4. Save for his sins or for his calumnies
Is there any doubt about the threatened doom

5. Or that predestined day of reck’ning dire?
Speak out to us, ye men of speech and faith
