He thought to pluck my beard

هم أن ينتف ذقني

1. He thought to pluck my beard
And showed me, by his grace,

١. هَمَّ أَنْ يَنْتِفَ ذقنِي
وَأَرَانِيَ بِفَضْلِهْ

2. That I would enter none but
As one made young by uniting with him

٢. لَمْ أَكُنْ أَدْخلُ إلاَّ
أَمْرَداً جَنَّةَ وَصْلِهْ
