1. I delay reproach that diminishes affection
And honor the face of excuse in you, not refusal

2. But I give you my advice
Though I had given it before and it was not useful

3. When a person's words exceed their limit
Purposes turn from them to the opposite

4. So seriousness from them becomes despised jest
And jest takes on the form of seriousness

5. So I do not seize the reins
For the noble qualities deserve excellence and glory
