1. Quench my thirst, for dawn has appeared
And the stars have faded

2. A coffee left undrunk is a burden
And it is my course

3. My companion, serve me, for the night
Has passed with its troubles

4. And the raven of darkness has gone
From the pigeons of morning

5. Lift the pot and look how the dew
Has sprinkled the meadow

6. And how the green branch swayed
Happily playing

7. A wonder that drunkenness found it
When it had not drunk

8. The branch's doves sang
With a wondrous tongue

9. And the clouds' tears commenced
Over the spring's face

10. Turn it like the mane of meteors
And serve me the flock

11. Where the full moon with her cup runs
Her cheek golden

12. Poetry has told on her cheek
A scribe writing

13. By He whose love made me
Of the letters haa and meem

14. I am of His love like half His name
While He remains perfect

15. A planet taking from His face
Every sincere heart

16. O epitome of beauty, what is the secret
That you are attributed thus?

17. We lovers have a veil
Whose lifting is hard

18. A moon ruling love with his power
Honor and triumph

19. And you see the magic of his lashes' charm
Among those lids

20. I am of his rejection and estrangement
Between water and fire

21. Perhaps the tracks will overcome
And love conquer

22. If coyness returns, the excuse is only
In Him, no blame cast

23. What slender shape appeared from the branch
In the chaste gardens

24. I said "O object of wishes, bring me near
To what we hope for"

25. But he turned away, ignoring me
And so I sang of him

26. How can it be, of those whose meaning is full moon
And dimmed stars

27. Lord, strengthen me against rejection
For parting is so hard
